A like counts as a picture view

I am generous with my likes but after a recent update a like counts as a picture view. I was looking at a picture and clicked LIKE. The picture reloaded but gave me the dreaded subscription page instead.

It was not like this for a long time but now is. Similar with videos. If you like a video part way through it reloads and puts you at the beginning again.

Apologies, I’m not sure how I missed this thread!

I’ll flag it with Hiccupx and ask him to look into it. It would appear to be a new issue likely a bug from a recent site update that we have missed. Clicking “like” refreshes the page to register the like, but this shouldn’t be counting as an extra view.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention, we’ll get it checked.

I expect it's fixing a bug but creating this effect.

There was a time in the past where liking a video mid way restarted the video. This behaviour is now back.

I've been thanked for likes so I reckon it does tell the pictures owner.

Videos can now be liked mid stream without it resetting. I expect photos can be liked without it eating up another view.

You get a notification of who liked your content and viewed your profile. This is in the notifications section (click the bell icon at the top of the website page).

The bug that caused likes to be counted as picture views (by refreshing the page when the Like button was clicked) should now be fixed. However, please let us know if you continue to experience any issues with it.
